A new (to me) twist on spam

I have been running Mailwasher for a long time now, suitably updated of course, and it has been very good at dumping the spam. Suddenly today I received 6 that slipped through the filter. They were all from people called Trudy, Roanne and other exotic girly names and advertising the usual stuff to enlarge various parts of my anatomy (no comment). Examination of the properties of the senders showed that they all allegedly originated from me, e.g. Trudy ([email protected]). How do they do that? And more to the point, how do I stop it without putting my own email address on the blacklist?

Generally spam comes from spoofed addresses to stop you and others filtering out regular offenders. The emails normally get a response by an embedded URL. So you can't do anything. It's got to be the people who run the internet and can see where stuff is originating from. To send an email a computer must reveal its correct IP address initially. Why ISPs are allowed to accept all this spam is baffling.
