suggestions for mobile email
Any suggestions for a decent mobile with good screen size and battery life for reading emails. Don't want big clumpy smartphone with keyboards etc as only plan on reading not writing emails on the move.
Related Q: Do all new mobiles on say Voda, O2, Orange etc all automatically check they are withing coverage of their Operator's 3G networks (for fast data downloads) before defaulting to 2G and slower GPRS?

You might be surprised by the form-factor of the Nokia 9300i. It's very good for mobile email.

If all you want to do is email, then Blackberries are hard to beat and if you use the Blackberry Internet Service, you can pick up pop/imap mail.
However if you a 3G device and use it as a wireless modem etc, then take a look at the either the new range of Symbian OS 9.x devices such as the Nokia E50 or SE M600i
