Saving web videos to hard disk?

Can anyone please tell me how to save a video to hard disk when the 'Save target as .....' option isn't available?

eg Water Rescue in Harlem River

Thanks.

This is a flash video, ie it plays in a flash player. In this case it (as in many of this type) it is embedded in the web page. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but believe that if the website has not made the option available (as they haven't in this case) it can't be saved.
Maybe someone who knows more about macromedia settings will know.

Take a look HERE

Copy and paste the web address containing the video clip into the above and follow the instructions.

You can also download a free Flash Player if you don't have one, and there is a link to another Freeware program allowing you to convert various types of video file to more popular formats.

Obviously you will consider Copywrite implications before doing so

Unfortunately I can't get your Chopper 2 link to work though -
It won't play let alone download on my PC !

saving videos to hard disks

What about saving a music dvd to hard disk? can you just create a folder and copy the entire drive to the disk and run it later? what program do you need? What if I only want to save selected songs from several DVD concerts?
thanks for any forthcoming replies.......

you can save flash video to your hard disk only with the help of some programs, such as FlashFetcher. i can advice it to you cause i use it myself (it works in interner explorer; you download and install it, and it would be in the IE taskbar as an icon; just you launch it when needed). google it and good luck!
