Interesting that Linux is not mentioned as an alternative, although I suspect that it is about as immune as MAC OSX - anyone with more insight care to comment?
And what about worms, Trojans and viruses that affect MS Office? Do these affect Office on the MAC?

I also have to use IE on my Mac to access one website and one website only, am I in danger there too?
