Task Manager - very slow loading
Not responding progs can usually be dealt with quickly by the TM but lately it takes ages to form. Mostly with video progs. They are slow too even though I have just replaced my graphics card with a GF6200 and loads of memory.
??? Please.

CaptainFillosan . . . . .
In relation to the Task Manager part of your post, use THIS (free); far superior to the Windows equivalent. It will delete non responding programs rapidly, plus a myriad of other options
How Task Manager should be!

Do you have on-demand (read) AV running?
Whenever a large file is opened by an application, the AV scanner is going to scan it - and in the case of videos the files are going to be v. large indeed.
When AV is running it will usually take up nigh-on 100% of CPU time, so everything else - including TM - just has to wait.
If you do a normal AV scan on the video file(s), you could then add them to the exclusions list for the AV scanner.
I found that java
was causing this on my system, so I added the jave .exe's to the exclusions list and it improved the situation considerably.
As a matter of interest - AMD or intel?

You're not running Windows Defender are you? My system was at times like treacle until I deleted it off my system. The CPU was running at 60% even when idle.
PS your video card will not (at the moment) really affect your windows performance just games.

Thanks also Blue Sky. That does the trick and I shall keep it. As a matter of interest I tried running Task Manager at the same time. It was like watching a child using one of those boards that draw straight lines. In other words it was useless!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
