Hello chaps,
Can anybody advise on the best mobile phone network to change to, that one may overcome lack of a comms signal
on a VODAPHONE mobile: postion roughly on the western outskirts of Storrington (West Sussex).
Cheers

Hi TG.... not too far from you.... Billingshurst. Out in the countryside away from the main town and O2 is the only one with a decent signal. Suggest you see if a friend has O2 and ask them to pop around and see if they still have a signal.

I have the same signal problem here in Lechlade. The only tip I can give, is to wander down to the local hostelry and ask what they use.
I would be a little wary if you need data services though. I tried an O2 PDA hybrid, which was a good deal, but the signal.... I tried another network with the same phone/PDA and they wanted a small fortune for it. On top of that, they also wanted another small fortune per month for a really meagre data service.

PS It is a lovely part of the World. I lived for a short time on Ditchling Common. Beer was dreadful though...

Use http://www.sitefinder.radio.gov.uk/ to ID your closest base stations.

The Northern triangle marks the base stations operated by 3, O2, T-Mobile and Orange. The Southern one is the Voda base station in Storrington.

Many thanks chaps
I can only say many thanks to you all for the time and trouble to point me in the right direction............ "transmit for D/F" they used to say!
Looks as if 02 might be the only provider with enough ooomph to envelope the earth around the house and allowing a suitable signal to fire up from a mobile Tx.
Thanks again all.
