How do you make a static copy of a web page?

Hi,

I want to make a static copy of a web page, how do I do this?

On my Mozilla FireFox browser, I selected "View" "Page Source" and have saved the html. Is this what I use? And how do I turn it into web page format again?

I hope somebody understands what I'm trying to do.

I just go to File,
Then Save Page As
Then tell it where to go.
When I open it from My Computer it's Open With
Works for me

A great little utility for capturing part or all of a screen is Snagit.

Why not just use 'Print Screen', save it as a .jpg, then edit as required with a graphic tool?

Works fine if the page is all "above the fold", if not Prt Scr only captures what you see.

Nooo, it's not the same thing at all

1) all the hyperlinks are gone
2) you only get a screenshot not the full web page
3) takes more memory (I think)
4) doesn't look like a real webpage

Hi Boac,

Yeah i did look at that link. To be honest my problem was solved after the first post of this thread, although all the additional information is much welcome.

I saw the http://www.httrack.com/page/2/en/index.html link from the page you linked. Did you download it?

Yup! It is a very clever programme and does exactly what I want - but it is too sophisticated for my simple needs and 'buggingout' cracked it with
File.....Save As....mht file
Not sure if that will work on Firefox but it certainly does on IE.
