External dvd burner ?

Anyone suggest a good one? I just want to transfer some TV progs from my PVR so that they will play on any DVD player.
Looked at the Liteon at Maplin
http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...urner&doy=28m3
and it has a lot of DVD formats DVD+R / DVD+RW / DVD+R9 / DVD-R / DVD-RW / DVD-ROM
Anybody simplify that for me ? Like I say, just want to make a DVD to play on any ordinary DVD player?

It's not that simple, honest.

Basically that covers most if not all types of DVD media. I have what is basically the same drive but an internal one, does the job.

There are some previous threads on here about DVD writing might be worth a search through.

What you need to know is what media will the DVD Player accept - or +. - and + are just a type of format, simple analogy VHS and Beta, they both do the same thing but different!

have a look at www.dvdrhelp.com lots of useful stuff on there.
