i am trying to create a simple log book to calculate my monthly and total time but i am having problems. For some reason the totals are complete garbage for each month and i just add them up normally, can anyone help? i have done many searchs' and have downloaded some templates but nothing is what i really want.

actual times, as i understand excel as soon as it gets to 24 hours total it then decimalises. This is where it seems to go wrong, for instance i have a long list of flight times which add up in excess of 24 hours per month and i get a total at the end which is not correct.

Have a look in http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=158700
for some tips on working with times in Excel (the thread is about rounding them, but there might be something in there for you).

I used to have the same problem, but in the more recent versions of Excel under format cells option there is a time option of either 30:55.2 or 37:30:55, both of these get around the resetting the number when you go past 24 hours.
