All of my other programmes involving sound work fine - SKYPE, CD player - it's just any programme requiring Windows Media doesn't let me hear anything. The visual is okay.
Can someone more technical minded than me offer a solution, please?
(I downloaded media player 10 today, but still no difference.)
Thank you.

It's often the hairware that let's you down! I went as far as getting new drivers & reinstalling my sound card because of one channel sound until I realised I had the balance control turned to the left. Took three days to work that one out!

I can fantasize (or should that be empathise...or sympathize) with you, PP.
The sound card was my first suspect
and that was why I decided to try a CD and SKYPE - don't know if the logic is right there, but I figured that because they were working okay, it must be the errrr...the ummm...time to call the pprune team
Oh well, at least I've got the latest update of Windows MP10 installed.
They say it's usually the simple things that cause the problems, and I think I qualify as that!
