Help! Unmountable Boot Drive
One of our PC is coming up with this blue screen error message (UNMOUNTABLE BOOT DRIVE) and continously looping back to the how do you want to start screen. Won't start in safe mode at all...
Any ideas on what to do to solve it?
Its an HP system, no restore or XP disk,1.7GHz. 256 MGB RAM., should have all the latest XP updates, etc.
Thanks.

This is what Google came up with. There many more but I hope I have pick one of the better ones - and a less complicated one.

Install the Recovery Console
Prior to booting to the Windows XP Recovery Console, you must install the Recovery Console. To do this, perform the following steps:
Insert the Windows XP CD into the CD drive.
Click the Start button and then click Run. The Run window appears. In the Open: field, type the following line:
X\i386\winnt32.exe /cmdcons
where X is the drive letter of the CD drive.
Click the OK button.
Follow the instructions on the screen to finish setup.
Click the Start button, click Turn off the computer and then click Restart.

You will, of course, get other inputs from the those with the know how if this one doesn't work.
Cheers,
PPP
