MSN versus Windows Messenger

Some help needed please. My PC keeps telling me that I have been signed out of .NET messenger because I have signed in at another location. As far as I can see the problem is arising from the fact that I have both windows messenger and MSN messenger progs running. I have tried to disable access to windows messenger in control panel- add/remove programs- add/remove windows programs but this seems to have no effect. Can someone tell me how to permanently disable windows messenger ?
Thanks in advance

I\'ve done a little digging and found this on another forum. It seems to have cured my problem so I\'ll leave it here incase anyone else is having the same problem
