Computer Recovery
My laptop is damaged due to an encouter with my car - i think it needs restoring somehow as it does not work properly is this possible without wiping hard disk?
Basically i have a lot of purchased music from itunes and i dont want to have to re-buy.
I am trying to find a way of asking apple for another complete download of my purchased music as i have all the e-recipts but who knows.

Obviously if the HD is broken you are going to struggle to get anything off it...
However, assuming the HD is OK, if you have access to a desktop PC you could buy a 2.5" to 3.5" disk adapter and take the HD out of the lappy and copy all your data & music files onto the PC. Or buy a USB disk caddy to fit the HD from the Lappy into.
Depending how badly damaged the lappy is you may need to replace it. If you replace it with an identical model (new or used) you could simply move the HD from old to new laptop. But it would have to be absolutely identical (except for RAM).
