Getting Laptop to ignore dial-up

Have tried connecting to the internet using PC-MIA wireless card and hotel LAN connections, my laptop insists on trying to connect using the dial-up network.

Using XP, how do i force it to ignore the modem?

Cheers

Don't know but I'm having the same problem with my laptop when connected via a cable modem. If the line drops and reconnects it wants to switch to dial-up.

Any ideas?

Under tools->Internet Option->Connections, click the "Never dial" option. That should prevent it from trying to dial up when the LAN drops.

Look to see what you have set as the default connection.
