Advice re DVD r/w drive .....
I need to enlarge my storage media for backups and plan to move from CD discs to DVD ...... in storage terms, from 0.7 GB per CD disc to a max of 8.5 GB per DVD disc .....
It has to be an External disc and I'm looking at the following ....
"Freecom 23724 External DVDRW Drive
16 x DVD Write, 4 x Rewrite 16 x Read
48x CD Write, 28x CD Rewrite, 40x CD ROM
Store up to 8.5GB on one disk.
USB 2.0 Interface
Supplied with:- Roxio Easy Media creator
USB cable, power supply & manual on CD
Yes Bundled Software
Blank CDRs and DVDRs included
Compatible with Windows 2000 & XP"
Price seems very reasonable at between approx. 70.00 and 80.00 stg depending on Store
Any views or alternatives to my plan appreciated ....

Why not try an external hard disc? Much bigger and faster and just as portable.
However that looks fine, but do look around, it is probably cheaper somewhere else.

P.s. don't anticipate using dual layer discs for a while I can't find them for less than £3 a disc.
