Internet speeds?
Having gone off computers for the moment, I'm still interested in checking out SBC's offer of the month.
$14.95 for the first year, with the option to canx at that time. $ 49.00 thereafter. Ouch!
A similar amount for the installation kit. Plus $50 if I want the unit with firewall and radio link etc. Sounds okay until I see the speeds.
Up 128----384 kb/s
Down 768----1.5 mb/s
This does not sound too exciting to me, though I'm no expert. What does the latest generation of interneters like to achieve on data-rates?

Thanks for the link.
I'm in Texas right now, so don't know if there is any difference in data-speak here.
Some of the rates that i have been hearing about seem to be far greater than the SBC's sales mentioned.
