Question Problem with turning on Dell Dim. 8200

This is an occasional problem that I have been unable to resolve.

COMPUTER: Dell Dimension 8200 small tower

The problem is that it will not power on unless I leave the tower slightly open. If I close the tower (as it should be) it will not power up.

In this case I must remove the power cord, open up the tower, and also wait for a little LED (light) on the mother board go out. Then I leave the tower open slightly 2 inches or more, and it will power up fine.

If I close the tower while it is operating it will turn off.

Is there a microswitch somewhere that I can not find that is acting up?

I have wiggled the wires coming from the power supply while it is powered on (and working), but can not duplicate this problem in this manner.

Thanks all for your expertise and assistance.
