Has the Pprune search engine been told to ignore specific words ?
One tried searching for the word "zero" on all fora, anytime, but to no avail.
Are some words banned from search ?
Edited to add that adding an asterisk (zero*) yields the expected results, though.

Another related question :
One allus thought it wasn't possible to post links to search results, yet it seems to work (even with different browsers on the same PC).
Could someone please check if this link (search for "laptop", last 2 weeks) is accessible and post the answer here ?
Thanks in advance

Back to the original question, I think the search function requires a minimum of five letters or characters; so zero results for zero but 746 for zero*.

How come a search for abc does work then ?
One' more and more puzzled
Mebbe 'tis indeed a form of censorship of four-letter words
Stranger and stranger goat and TOGA work, soe does give but come doesn't
one, two, four, nine, five don't work but ten does

The minimum length of a word for search purposes is three letters.
And if you think it is strange that 'zero' returns no results, you'll probably think there is some consipracy afoot when you realise that 'zéro' returns eight matches.
The truth is not that exciting however. It's a bug in the vBulletin software. I've not looked in to in detail but it appears to be caused by the fact that in some contexts a word like 'zéro' is treated as equivalent to 'zero' when in fact, obviously, it is not. This stops the part of the system which creates the search index from working properly.
