Floppy Causing restart?

I am running XP Pro on my pc. It has a floppy drive that has always worked ok. Recently if I have tried to use a blank floppy the pc restarts itself.

Sounds like it's trying to autoboot from it but this normally only happens if you leave a floppy in the drive at powerup.

Perhaps a look in the BIOS?

or failing that, disconnect the drive. I don't think I have found anyone using a floppy for years now... Oh - do set your CD drive to an active Boot device!

Flash memory is so cheap these days and has the flexibility of being up to 1GB in size. Maybe the best thing (next to reliability) is that it is so physically small and that it is easy to pocket/use/lose
