office probs

Suddenly cant open any programme in MS Office 2003.
comes up with "an error has occured and must close down" message.

Deleted whole of MS office from hard disk, defragged, scandisked, tidyed up and everything got out the original MS Office SBE 2003 CD and reloaded it all.
Half way through the re install it threw another wobbler and told me that there was an error on the disk and CAB file XXXXX was corrupt!!!

What can I do now.... £200 worth of software is just junk???

running win xp with sp2, gig ram, 79 GB hard drive etc...all OK apart from that.

I had similar problems but with loading xp, files corrupt on the cd, tried all sorts, fresh cd, cd reader, ide cables, until clutching at straws I ran a memory test and found the problem. the BIOS test showed memory ok but this http://www.memtest86.com/ picked up the fault everytime. its free so must be worth ago.
