Arrow Possible to script changes to IE settings?

Guys, I have a question for work which has stumped the finest highly paid minds here. I'm sure you're a lot cleverer:

Is there a way to link to different web applications by URL using different option settings in IE WITHOUT having to manually amend the options via menu?

I want the link for application A to fire up IE with the "Use JRE 1.5.0" option enabled, and the link for application B to fire up IE with the same option (pictured) disabled.

Restarting IE inbetween sessions is fine, but not manually fiddling with the options, which the end users can't be trusted / don't have access to do.

Also, if the users don't have admin rights, is there any way to script such a settings change so that it'll work regardless?

Any ideas welcome!

Many thanks,

SSS
