yahoo email delay
Hi,
Wonder if anyone can help on this. I have yahoo messenger on my computer, this alerts me to incoming mail, but primarily use btconnect as a service provider. Trouble is if I send an email using btconnect to someone with a yahoo address it will delay sending for 48 hours! Anyone know how to fix this whilst still keeping the yahoo messenger?
Kind regards and thanks for any help,
767bill

Bill,
I doubt this has much to do with installing Yahoo Messenger, unless you've removed it and realised the speed improvement? tell me if I'm wrong.
There are a hundred reasons why mail delivery might be delayed. Are you using Outlook Express? and are you 100% sure it's being sent before you close down O.E?

There is an ongoing problem with the btconnect mail server at the moment. Click this link On the right hand side of the page you will see a box titled 'Top Support Issues' select the 'check service status' link, that should tell you all about it.

Whiz,
Thanks for that, though I think this one I'm trying to solve is some kind of incompatibility between btconnect and yahoo, which somehow causes the send message to be sent exactly 48 hours later!! I get around this my sending messages to yahoo addresses from a yahoo account I set up, though this can be a hassle.

Yahoo Messenger
"I doubt this has much to do with installing Yahoo Messenger, unless you've removed it and realised the speed improvement?"
If anyone's interested I have discovered that it was the Yahoo messenger which was capturing emails sent from my btconnect server to any yahoo addresses and then sending them 48 hours later. I know now because I have deleted the messenger!
I imagine yahoo may do this to stop people using a fixed ISP and forwarding all messages to a yahoo account...
