Word 2000 advice sought

I have used Word 2000 for some time now and know there are Microsoft updates for it, some which deal with security issues. I am keen to update on-line but was told that the process requires the original installation CD. I no longer have this disk or access to it, can anyone advise me if I can still go ahead or indeed if an update causes problems. I am operating W98se, 300Mhz,192M RAM.
Thanks in advance.

I updated my office 2000 last month and yes it required both setup discs to allow the updates.
Not noticed any problems with Word etc. after the update

If you don't have the disks you could always swap to OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org) its free and unless you use tons of word macros there really is nothing you are likley to miss.
