VHS to DVD Transfer

I don't think this question has already been asked....

I want to copy my family VHS recordings to DVD (via PC, thus enabling editing). I have looked at several different options, and the one that looks most favourable is a TV card made by Hauppage (sp?).

Any body got any suggestions; tips; free cards???

I use this gadget http://www.aver.com/products/dvm_AVe...aker_usb.shtml
Just connects via USB and is very easy to use. Cheap too.
