Start - Control Panel - System should give you 'System Properties' which will tell you your system OS software summary.
There are probably lots of other ways! Easiest is just to open Control Panel and see if there's a 'Security Centre' tetrachromatic shield icon. If there is, it means you must have SP2!

BRL, Just remember, a silly question is only a silly question, when you know the answer.
With software, anything can, and usually does, go wrong at some stage. Those that have knowledge have probably had many hours of anguish trying to find out the answer.
All that people want in return, is a 'Thank You for your help' and that you pass on the knowledge, they passed you, to others who find themselves in the position you found yourself in.
Keep asking, Keep learning, and enjoy.
