upload pic to Pprune

could someone tell me in very simple english how to upload a pic from my lappy to a post in D & G. I don't understand the http thingy that comes up when you select IMG to begin the process.

I have read FAQ both here and the main FAQ, and I'm afraid that it would just not compute...

thankyou .. I'm feeling really really old

Hi,
open an account on http://photobucket.com/ (It's free).

Save your picture(s) to a folder in your album and then cut and paste the option you need into your post. I think it's the Img one for these threads. The photo should then appear in your post.

It's relatively easy - I managed, and I am genuinely slow with all things computing!

Good luck.

What he's saying is that you have to have it uploaded to the 'web' somewhere and then 'refer' to it - you can't just add it to your post.

Set up an account with any picture hosting service and upload your picture to their site. You can then post a link to the picture by typing the web address into your post - like this:

http://www.fototime.com/051B16C37597BEE/standard.jpg Click the link and you open a new window including the picture.

Or you can click the little IMG button and type the same link into the window which pops up - this tells the board software to show the link as a picture - like this:

Showing the picture, rather than posting a link, does take up board space however.
