AOL Internet Connection Sharing

I have aol broadband and have just set up a home network with two pcs running. I want to share my internet connection. I have tried everything I can to get the second pc to use my broadband aol connection on the host machine. I am now totally and utterly confused. It just won't play fair!

Can anyone put me right. I hasten to add that I have signed up to AOL broadband for a year, so no suggestions of changing my ISP.

Many thanks

MF

I've done this myself, but by far the easiest way is to use a router (ideally one with a build in broadband modem), have that dial up to AOL Broadband, and plug the PCs into that. You'll need to set your password to something shorter than 8 characters, and use the primary username, but once you've got the router dialled up, it's plain sailing - just plug each PC into the router with a network cable, and tell them to use "local network connection" for their internet access.

An added advantage of this approach is that you need never see AOL's horrible software again.
