Printer Driver Problem
Yesterday I posted about a driver problem for a Zebra label printer. Clearly, it was too specialised to attract comment, so I have deleted it and am now asking the question:
'What can cause an OS to reject a printer driver?'
I have a mix of WinNT, W2K and WinXP machines. The driver for a Zebra printer was accepted by the WinNT and 1 of the W2K machines but not by some others of the same OS [inc WinXP].
I have tried loading from CD and manufacturer's website. Anybody got any advice to offer? Something I have missed or could try?
As always, thanks in advance!

FJJP,
How does the Zebra label printer connect to the comp? (If it is via the Parallel Port, there are several settings in the BIOS that can help.)
Take Care,
Richard

We [the engineers and me] tried everything, including shared thru a local workstation or attached to an HP print server. What bugs me is that everything was working just fine and dandy when it took it upon itself to give up. It should have been a case of plugging in a replacement for the bust printer, but it didn't work out like that.
Tomorrow I will try installing the driver suggested by Maxell as a first step.
I'll let you know what happens tomorrow - if I haven't taken a sledgehammer to it in the meantime!

Everything is back up and running again. The temp printer was a slightly different model with a completely different driver which we didn't have. However, final replacement is identical to the original and driver works fine.
Thanks to you all for your ideas.
