Try REAL Alternative
I try my utmost to avoid installing the monster that is Real Player, and if that means not seeing some internet content then so be it.

The new RealPlayer isn't anywhere near as bad as the previous versions. When you turn off options, it leaves them off now. It isn't anywhere near as annoying either with pop-ups.
That said, you do have to look carefully to find the free version on their website.

goates,
I am with you. I will have to give Front_Seat_Dreamer's link a serious look, since I have wanted an alternative to the over bloated Real Player Real Player for years.
Take Care,
Richard

Real Alternative and the similar Quicktime Alternative both use Media Player Classic, itself an alternative to M$'s bloated & intrusive Media Player.
I've used MPC for years. It also plays DVDs.
