OE Removing Attachments

Recently, I've noticed on PC the message "OE has removed the unsafe attachments..." from this message etc.

Can anyone tell me why? Its M-in Law PC so wouldn't be expecting 'unsuitable' material. Also, why OE which I take to be Outlook Express. I could understand if it was Anti Virus software removing nasties.

Even simple photos have been removed, with no option of retrieving them form anywhere!

All thoughts / suggestions welcome

Just to finish off BOAC's message untick the box that says

Do not allow attachments...

You will then be able to access all attachments.

The feature is a nuisance but to be fair viruses can come in many forms including ones that look like pictures but can actually be an assortment of trouble. I would ALWAYS make sure that you have an up to date AV as a huge number of viruses that people get are innocuous looking emails that may have come from a well meaning email 'friends' who send their entire address book a copy of the 'cool email they have been sent.
