Unwanted user names appear at log on

On a couple of my ‘online’ programs, (like my online banking for example), I get a list of usernames appear when I first attempt to log on. I’ve got a quite a few options in the list since a number of visitors have used my computer to do their banking on my computer and most annoying of all, one really close to my own user number which is wrong (I miskey-ed the number trying to type in the dark). There’s also my PPrune name, which isn’t much use to me when I log on to my bank or my remote company site.

Is there any way to wipe these user names?

Hiya

You need to go into system tools from the start menu and use DISK CLEANUP.

This should find and remove any of these items you need to remove.

7x7 - if the 'names' appear in a drop-down box as you start typing into the main box, you can try highlighting the unwanted name with a mouse single-click and then use the 'delete' KEY (not the mouse delete).

In Internet Explorer Try:

'Tools'
'Internet options'
'Content'
'Autocomplete'

From there, you can either disable the use of AutoComplete, or Clear the names using 'Clear Forms' clear any passwords by using 'Clear Passwords'

Doing the disc cleanup will only remove temporary t'internet files and anything inthe recycle bin, it doesnt remove stored usernames/passwords. ZH is spot on and this will solve your problem.

Won't it also remove every single autocomplete entry that you want to keep?

Well spotted Binoculars

The easiest way to get shot of unwanted entries is to start typing and then arrow down / up to the entry then hit delete on the keyboard
