Love the shots Keith, what lens did you take the air-air ones?
Hello NWSRG,
I'm also in the market at the minute looking for digital camera stepping up from mx IXUS400.
I'm tempted by the SI 1S, but also have a voice in my heading shouting 300D 300D!
I found lastnight online 300D kit with the 18-55mm lens for sale for £642, but then £100 cashback (that makes it £542 I think ) but then there I have to go and buy a decent lens, preferably 300mm
I'm thinking of sticking with Canon, hence 300D or SI 1S and no mention or others such as Minolta or Nikon.
I just dont know, I like that idea of the equivalent of 380mm zoom with the S1 IS, but the quality and flexibility of an SLR, just not the price lol

Yep, seen the EOS 300D offer too...had a look on EBay to see if I could pick up a decent zoom lense for one, but no joy so far.
Still thinking of the A200...7 x optical plus an 8Mpixel resolution...the 4 x digital zoom should work pretty well with that sort of resolution...or will it?
I'm also thinking that I can get a telephoto add-on for the A200 which would take it to a 10.5 x optical...or SLR equivalent of 28 - 300mm...which sounds pretty neat. And then the digital zoom could take that to 600mm, 900mm or 1200mm!! Am I doing my sums right?

For those of you contemplating "digital Zoom" - Don't. It is basically just cropping the picture and remember that cutting the picture size by half ie. digital zoom x 2 is to square root the definition (No of pixels)

NWSRG,
Since I can't PM or e-mail, had to dig up this thread
Regards to zoom lenses, there is the Canon EF 75-300mm USM III around for £120 if that's any help.
The £100 casback runs until the end of Jan 05, and if I think you can also claim a 256mb CF card from Canon before the end of this month,
HTH
