my computer has gone to heaven!!

Hi guys my old gateway P2 pc has gone to heaven. I'm now split between buying a new one, or repairing the old one!!

I dont have much money to spend on a new one!! The monitor is still good as is the case, keyboard, mouse, harddisk and CD-RW!!

Does anyone have any good ideas about cheap (but good) motherboards, memory, chips, video card and soundcard that I could buy!!

It is cheaper to buy a new base unit. See here for £180 + delivery, assuming you load your own OS.
Only a 1.6Ghz, but compared to a P2 it will fly...

Cool

Novatech and Dabs do motherboard bundles and barebone systems as well.

green dinosaur,

Here are some options:

Constructing a PC

Do you have the specs on your Hard Drive and your CD Burner?

You will need to upgrade your Power Supply, since hardware is a lot more demanding now compared to the days of the PII.

Take Care,

Richard

P.S. These days CD Burners are dirt cheap and Hard Drives are not much more.
