POP3 e-mail

Hello,

Does anyone know any service providers of "free" pop3 email address, so i can access via outlook express instead of web access.

Many Thanks
Airway

Hi Airway,

If you just want to avoid web based e-mail, you might find Incredimail suits your needs. It doesn't use OLE, but rather it's own interface. It's free, so you can try it, and if it's not suitable, then a quick uninstall and it's gone. If you do like it, it's still free..

I don't use it myself, but it's a popular application, and I've not seen any problems with it on any of the computer forums I help out on.

And if nothing else, judging by the flash presentation on their site, your kids (if you have any) will love all the styles, sounds and animations you get with it..

Cheers

Liam

I use the mail provision on the Opera browser and a web based facility http://www.mail.com

Mail has some good filters (easy to set up) and little or no spam. It is free.

AIRWAY,

Have you checked with the ISP you currently use to log onto the Internet with. They usually give you several free POP3 Accounts and free Webspace as part of your Monthly Service.

Take Care,

Richard

If you want to use OE, why not use Hotmail? OE has support for it built and will link direct to your Hotmail account and download and upload mail.

You could try out Spymac. They give you 1 GB of mail storage space with their free account and 3 GB if you pay for the Pro version. I believe that the free account has POP access, and the paid account adds on IMAP access.

I would check with your ISP though as Richard suggested.

BC - try 'search' on this forum - I asked a while back. The answer is yes and it works fine.

hi everyone

to access yahoo through outlook or outlook ex, download a small prog called yahoopops, cannot remember the web page, but a search in yahoo or google should do the trick, works very well.

as a bit of info, in the tools section of outlook, email accounts, in the pop3 incoming mail server box enter, localhost, in the out going mail server box put whatever your isp is eg, i use wannado so mine is smtp.wannado.fr.

hope this is helpful
