Question Wireless network - Windows

Evening all,

I'm thinking of setting up a wireless home network using the BT Voyager wireless router/modem and some BT network adapters.

Two computers run XP, which I know won't be a problem. However, one PC runs Windows 98.

Will I be able to connect the Win 98 computer to the network or does it need to be XP?

Many thanks,

AI

Win 98 will work fine, unfortunately, since I don't have a copy to hand I can't tell you how to configure it !

So a post which is at least 50% useful

The Nr Fairy is correct, and I also no longer have a copy so cant help there.

One tip though - I used to have a (wired - although shouldnt make any difference) network, one machine on XP and one on win 98, and it was a pain in the ass to set up !

Aluminium Importer,

The only issue with Win98 on networks is that they needed to have shares turned on an a directory shared for Win98 machines to see other Win98 machines. If you are just looking to gain Internet access, nothing needs to be shared in order for it to work wirelessly. (Just install the proper drivers for the Wireless NIC.)

Take Care,

Richard
