Host For Domain??
Can anyone recommend a good Host to park a website on at all? Can't be "one and one" but would prefer UK based simply for ease of payment as I need to pay in sterling.
Appreciate ya help!

phpwebhosting.com are hard to beat on price/performance. They'll bill your credit card in monthly installments and that will take care of your currency conciderations.

Thanx for that dusky - would still prefer a UK provider for other reasons like cost of phone support, avoiding cost of credit card exchange penalties....... well COST really hehe!
Any other options anyone?

Thanx chaps, for the help so far....
Maxell - fanaticalhosting appears to be the most user friendly site amongst these but I'm a little concerned about two aspects. Firstly if you access their FAQ's you'll see MOST of the questions there have only had one or two viewings - indicating either a recent system reset OR they are VERY new OR NOT very busy!!
Secondly - there's a clause in their T's and C's which I reprint here:
In the event of a charge back by a credit card company (or similar action by another payment provider allowed by us) in connection with the payments of the registration fee for your domain name registration, you agree and acknowledge that the domain name registration shall be transferred to us as the paying entity for that registration to the registry. We will reinstate your domain name registration solely at our discretion, and subject to our receipt of the initial registration or renewal fee and our then-current reinstatement fee, currently set at US$200.
........ $200 looks a lot of money is this for the renewal at the end of the first year and each one thereafter?
Do you have any personal experience of them?
Thanx again.

Try Zen Internet. I use them and have found them to be very good, especially customer support. They are based in the Midlands.
They do various web hosting packages starting at £50 per year for 1 GB of bandwidth, 50 MB of webspace and 1 POP 3 mailbox.
Their website can be found here.

Many thanx again Chaps,
Maxell - went with fanatical hosting in the end. They give a very prompt, efficient service and tech support is freefone so it's fingers crossed now that at 20 quid for the year it turns out to be the unbelievable deal it appears.......

I know, I know...... ya gets what ya pays for!
It seems to have turned out to be "too good to be true"! It all started out so well but they never really managed to wrestle the domain out of the hands of the previous host and then the phone began to remain unanswered and emails not replied too..... It's all gone to dust!
Now even their own website seems to have *ucked up! Their own web page seems to be just a front page and the only serviceable link seems to be "this month's great deals" hehe!
Steer clear chaps!

For value for money, I have found Totalise to be reasonable. I have had a few little niggles, but they have always been dealt with by personal e-mail within 48 hours. They are at https://www.domainnamesales.co.uk/

I've been with Purple Paw for 2 years. No complaints so far. My Hosting renewal was £48 for 2 years, and my (.co.uk) domain renewal was a tenner. Oh, and they are British but their server is in the US of A I think.
