How to get monitor to go in standby mode?

I run Windows XP but I am not too computer literate.
When I do not want to use the computer for 10 mins yet leave it switched on, how do I get the monitor to go in standby mode, which once I move the mouse the monitor comes back into action?
TIA

Cool

right click on the desktop, select properties, select screen saver tab, at the bottom is the power saving settings, set it in there.

Settings - control panel - display

I think under the TAB of screensaver theres an option for energy saving, go in there and amend the turn of monitor to 10 mins, if that dont work go to your power save icon in control panel
