How much??
I've got an old PC I want to get rid of, but I've got no idea how much to ask for it, and was hoping someone could give me an idea.
Its spec is
Fujitsu Siemens base unit
800Mhz Pentium 3 processor
512Mb Ram
40GB hard disk
CD ROM
56KB modem
17 inch CRT display
preloaded with Windows ME
small external speakers
I realise it won't be worth a great deal, but sitting in my loft, it's worth
all

419,
It depends on the age of the 17" Monitor, but if you are looking to sell it, you should completely wipe the Hard Drive (so no one else gets your data), and I would recommend installing Windows XP. It will help you sell it.
Take Care,
Richard

Richard,
I've deleted all my info on the hard drive, and cleared it using cyberscrub free space wiper.
The display is approx 2 years old. I wasn't sure if the computer would manage to run XP, as the processor is only 800Mhz.

That's better than the machine I'm using here, and that's running XP Pro with no bother at all.
I paid £1200 for this thing, only last century. It's nowhere near obsolete yet!
I'd be inclined to stick it on Ebay with a good description, a reserve of about £125, and an opening bid of £1. Make it as short an auction as you can (3-day is minimum, I think) - nobody looks at stuff till the last day or so anyway.
Ebay usually finds the value of this kit, and I've been pretty happy with purchases and sales on there.
