DOOM II not working with XP

"DOOM II" is an older game, but will not run in XP, even when I select to use Win95 or Win98 emulation. The game runs like garbage - slower than an 8086!

I have Toshiba Satellite P-IV laptop with 512 megs RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce4 460 Go Video Card with 64 megs of dedicated RAM (not the best video card, granted, but far better than the one on the 386 I was able to play this game fine on!)

Any tips / suggestions? Thanks.

Captain Over,

One other option for you:

If either of your partitions on the Toshiba are in FAT32, you could load Doom II there and use a Bootable DOS Disk to boot the notebook.

Then you should be able to play Doom II.

Take Care,

Richard

Thanks, TR4A and Richard. Once this pesky sim check is over I will look into both suggestions. Cheers.

Captain Over,

Nothing like a little Fragging to wind down from the stress of a Sim Check.

Take Care,
