Avant Browser
I have just downloaded and am running the Avant browser. I quite like it. It certainly seems to be faster than Internet Explorer and has some nice built in features.
Just wondering if anybody else has tried it and if so what your opinion is of it?

Just having a look at it just now and it looks like one of many browsers available that run on an IE platform but do the job ten times better. You would think Seattle might just notice the popularity of these browsers when releasing future updates, if that ever happens.
I'll let you know later what my thoughts on this one is, thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for pointing out the Avant Browser - Very Nice indeed!
It's so good for ppruning I'm now using it all the time.. and I see now what is meant by Tabbed Browsing.
I also have Opera 7.11 and IE 6.0 to compare it with, and so far Avant is by far the best Browser I've tried so far.
I particularly like the Tabbed Browsing capability and the fact that it uses your Favourites list from IE, and even manages to spell it in UK English - Not Favorite! It also includes a built in pop up stopper.
Anyone else tried it yet?

Interesting point from FSD.
Avant is at first glance just 'skinning software.' Like Firebird or even this site entire new looks are just a download away and can then be applied.
So Avant is doubly impressive. A reliable and very useful interface/tools but one that is using the Internet Explorer browsing engine. The performance they've wrought from that bloated old warhorse is incredible.
Methinks the Avant folks have a very deep understanding of Microsoft's proprietary API calls
Regards

I used it for a while, but found after a while some things just did not work as expected so I go rid of it. I now use Slimbrowser from Flash Peak, and have been running it for several months now in preference to IE. Lots of great features. Gratis too!

I also highly recommend SlimBrowser. Think Advant is fast wait till you see Slimbrowser in action. And for us Techies it is also highly configurable. It is also in active development and has regular updates.
