hijacked by AOL?!

I recently installed AOL off one of those free CD's and used a couple weeks online time while in sorting out a new ISP during a short term posting in the UK.

Now I'm quite happily using freeserve for email and surfing and have uninstalled AOL but if I click on a link in an email it tries to open an AOL connection, gives an error message and stalls - this even when I am online with freeserve!

I have looked in email accounts, internet options - the obvious places but can't see where this automatic link is hidden.

I'm running windows XP - any bright ideas please?!!

Thanks!
