Scanner Problems

Ladies and Gentleman, you have been most helpful before, so I ask again for help.

I have installed a scanner on my Mum's computer. (She is running XP) The scanner is an HP 2300.

The problem is that when you scan something, the first quarter comes out OK, then the rest just looks like a big barcode. The HP
"help" line (hello from India) told me it was because I had not down loaded a MS Service Pack for XP. I have down loaded the pack, re installed the scanner, and the problem remains the same.

I turn to my fellow PPruners for help.

Regards SOPS

Iwas going to sugest downloading the latest driver. But 232Mb may take a while.

See if they're a later version, if so it might be worth ordering the CD.

SOPS,

Which Driver are you using for the scanner? (There is a 185k update in the page ORAC linked in his post.)

Have you tried the WinXP Scanner Wizard?

Take Care,

Richard
