.exe question.
Hello. I have a problem with a programme that I have on my pc.
It is on my hard drive(C) called microsoft flight sim 2000.
It used to be in the folder, Microsoft games but someohow I have deleted that folder, but all the fs stuff is still there on my C drive.
If I look at 'Windows Explorer' and go down to Programme files, the microsoft folder is there complete with fs2000 in it.
The microsoft games folder is not on my 'Start menu' - All Programmes' at all.(WIN XP Home)
How do I get it back there so I can stat using fs2000 for my NAV practise..?

Try right clicking on yer desktop > New > Shortcut.
type in where the fs2000.exe file is (probably c:\program files\microsoft games\fs2000\fs2000.exe) - ok
That's the desktop shortcut done, quicker than going through the start menu. You may have deleted it to the recycle bin, if so, go into it and restore it.

Thank you. I tried that and when I click on next a new box comes up with this in it "The file C: \Program cannot be found.
It is definatly there though. When I explore windows it is clearly there in the Microsoft games folder but the Microsoft games folder is not under my Start menu, all programmes
If I do a search for Microsoft on my hard drive it comes up then. It is located in the MS games folder as I said earlier. I could remove/delete all the files there and reload the sim but there are so many add-ons there that it would takes a few hours putting it all back on again.

Open the recycle bin on your desktop and restore all items.
If the files are all still there and the program is still installed, you can add items to the Start menu from the Taskbar menu under Start. If you click it, a dialogue will open, with two tabs, 'Taskbar', and 'Start menu'. Click the Start menu tab, then Customize, Add Programs and then browse to the location of the exe file.
It's also possible that, although the files are still on the hard drive, the program has been uninstalled from Windows. In which case you'll have to reinstall it by going to the Control Panel and using "Add or Remove Programs". It only shows the option of doing it from the floppy or CD, but if it doesn't find one it will then ask you to browse to the exe file location.
Last resort, reistall from the CD from the Control Panel as above.

Thank you Orac. The recylcle bin is empty. I think I deleted it about a week ago.
I will reload the prog then drag the appropiate folders from the ones that I have on my hard drive. Thank you once again.
