slow internet
Hi,
My internet connection is very slow, I have noticed that it is always sending info, instead of receiving it.
I use a 56k modem.
Do I have a virus, a bug, a worm, a pic?, What might be the causes then, and what the solutions.
many thanks.

Are you aware that the upstream on a 56k modem is 28.8k?
Most internet services these days are "asymmetric", assuming that you will download much more than you upload.

3142,
When you use the telephone on the line your modem is connected to, do you hear and static? That is one cause of slow connections speeds.
56k V.90 Modems max download is 56k and max upload is 33.6k
56k V.92 Modems max downalod is 56k and max upload is 56k
That is under ideal conditions, we know in the real world, nothing is ever ideal.
If you are worried about a virus, try:

Take Care,
