Just wondering if any of the expats there have kids in school. I lived there for short while but we home-schooled at that time. I was wondering how expensive it was.

Better property value in the Chorillo. Thats where the Copa Headquarters expansion will be located. Nice place over there and is afordable with the salary. Some of the best schools in Panama are there and Boca de Caja.

During training (6 months) your pay will be $1033.75, consisting of:

- Salary - $850.00*
- Production Premium - $183.75

*This amount is taxed according to Panamanian laws.

Once checked in the line your pay will be $3023.75, consisting of:

- Salary - $1700.00*
- Per diem – Guaranteed in 66 hours -$1,140.00.
- Production Premium - $183.75.
- Additional hours above 66 are paid $36.25 each.

They said that F/O flies about 84 hours a month.

They do not have training bond.

To rent a good apartment it will be between $750 and $1200.

I heard from a Captain that you MIGHT take up to 11 months to start the IOE.

The traffic in PTY is really hard. I recomend to live close to Tocumen. Not downtown, otherwise you might take up to two hours to go to Tocumen during the rush time.

Copa still hiring F/O's, but you need to meet the requirements. 1000 TT for EXPAT's, Commercial License and English level 4 or higher.

Chorrillo is an extremely dangerous slum, and should be considered off limits. The best schools in Panama are not in Chorrillo, and they're not in Boca la Caja either.

Bukkake is right and I live one street across from bocalacaja. Both very beautiful places rich with Panamanian culture. Lots of trash in the streets and daily nonstop traffic with people driving on top of one another. Absolutely beautiful, safe, and full of very nice schools. Don't listen to the other guy, he is probably a gringo in love with all those classy Colombianas you see around with their business attire. Whomever makes the most noise with horns is the coolest. The diablorojo is a very cheap, safe, and reliable form of transportation. It's paradise and plenty of days off and money to enjoy your free time. Come on down, copa has lots of money for everyone. And as a pilot you will have so much money you will not know what to do with it
