A bunch of DEC's have bailed in recent months! No pay raise as promised, a lot of BS to put up with.

peteroja 23rd February 2012 18:41

Now that is really a dumb comment,

I fly the line here as B 737 Capt, I enjoy the people, F/A's are great,a very smoothly run airline, no MELs everything is fixed at once, clean airplanes. As soon as you pull into the gate you have a cleaning team meeting you, it is great. dispatch is good, if I want more fuel they give me more, however I dont have to ask, they tend to put on to much.

The training is not the best but once you are done, life is great, Pay is what it is, I am not happy with it, but I dont want to go to India or Dubai either. so it is what it is, if ther is a not a substantial pay increase people will be looking elsewere. Emloyees in general seems to be happy with good attitude. Management seems to make this work, loads are good.

The check is in the mail........:ok:

I like your comment..

Really like your honest full bodied comments with no beating around the bush and bitterness. Very helpful for the guys looking.

From their requisites in their webpage...what do they refer with letters of reccomendation?? within their own company?? your last job?? someone related to aviation??

CanadianTrev 9th March 2012 14:39

Has Copa been hiring any expat FO's lately or are there enough local guys. I have well more then the requirements on their website 2500TT with 700jet on the RJ. Been applying for a bit but haven't heard back. I have very little Spanish but would love to learn!

peteroja 11th March 2012 21:24

YOu better have good recomendations from you LAST JOB. They will be verified. To many fraudulent letters, each individual will be called. Prefered Chief Pilots etc.

peteroja 11th March 2012 21:27

I have not heard of any expats FO{s being hired in the reasent months, Copa are planning a Job Fair in ATL and I think Las Vegas, dot hoild me to it though, I think ere will be some prior notice, keep your eyes and ears open. 5000 hrs total time 1000 pic over 50,000lbs, most have over 10,000 total time. ( for Captains)

dlcmdrx 12th March 2012 04:41

peteroja, so those letters have to be at least two from your last job right?? and one of them prefered from the chief pilot right??
what are the chances if you dont present this letters, or if they are not from the chief pilot?? i cant get one from him
I can confirm them being in the Atlanta job Fair, im currently working in the US as a CFII and im gonna go to that fair... it will be tough though to get those letters.

ElAl 12th March 2012 06:04

dlcmdrx 14th March 2012 19:23

Aero Crew Solutions 14th March 2012 23:09

Qatar Airways will not be attending the job fair. Hopefully they will be able to attend our next event in Orlando on May 19th.

Any news about pay increase?

The Dominican 17th March 2012 01:17

Let's say that you are CEO at an airline and you have an endless supply of very experienced regional pilots willing to work for less than what they were making as a senior regional captain to go get the ticket and time on the 73, why would you even consider raising the salaries? So people stay and you would have to pay senior wages? Nah! These folks will ride the wave of cheap foreign labor for as long as they can:hmm:

arvida 19th March 2012 23:18

Well said Dominican.

The first goal of all airlines is to make the more profit.

Bukkake 28th March 2012 13:13

It seems that UNPAC (the pilot union of Panama) is more interested in their baseball team and selling car polish than actually negotiating. As a matter of fact, negotiations here are called "reunions."

According to the official party line, taken straight from their website, it looks as if there will be no pay raise and a loss of days off.

What a joke...

Immigrant 29th March 2012 15:53

it looks as if there will be no pay raise
Not exactly...

Insulting pay raise was offered..

419$ -Capt, 60%- FO

:yuk::{:sad::*:rolleyes:

Check Airman 29th March 2012 18:42

Immigrant, can you give some more details on that pay raise please?

$419/month for CA?

60% of what for FO's?
