U.S. Helicopter Crashes in Honduras

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A U.S. Army "Black Hawk" helicopter with five troops aboard crashed in Honduras during a training mission, an Army spokesman said on Thursday.

Fate of the troops was not known. Rescuers were unable to reach the crash site by air due to bad weather.

The helicopter, based at Soto Cano Air Base, crashed three miles east of Santa Cruz, Honduras, on Wednesday night while returning from a routine training mission, said Major Richard Cruzan. An investigation was under way.
