Info on Missing Friend in Venezuala

I have heard via rumors that an old friend is missing. If anyone is from the Venezuala area and can refer me to a source I would appreciate it. The rumor was that Steve Patterson was flying in Venezuala and was reported as missing. I knew Steve many years ago as an Army Pilot who was really one of those quiet heros from Vietnam.
I would really appreciate any info as to someone who knows him and what may have happened.
Thanks
Bert

Unfortunately I beleive that news are not the best,
It appears he was flying a patient to MIQ from BNA, weather was an issue and he was in a Piper single, the aircraft hit the mountain in Caraballeda, some 15-20nm from MIQ.
My condolences[URL=http://archivo.eluniversal.com/2002/10/31/31460AA.shtml]

Thanks for the article. My Spanish is not good, but the message is quite clear.

As I had mentioned in my original post Steve was one of those quiet heros in Vietnam. (25th Infantry Division LOH Pilot) I really didnt know him well, but We went through Armor Officers School at Ft Knox, Ky. He had just returned from Vietnam and was headed to Verona Italy.. Just another guy you meet in the military and continue on with your own life and career. Just something about him made everyone who knew him, like him. He had all those things that few talk about, Silver Star, Bronze Star, a string of Air Medals.
I saw him about 10-15 years ago on TV. Guiness book of records as he saved someones butt again while flying a 500D in Venezuela.
Always wanted to say hi one more time, but you know how that goes.
Sometimes the urgency of helping others finally catches up with you. He will be missed by many, but not forgotten.
