Are you Salvadorian, or do you hold a Salvador Commercial License? You have to have at least one of those to work there. Otherwise no luck

Yes I do. But have been a while since I've been in El Salvador. Tried to get some information on the Internet but not even a clue. Do you know something about them?

Well. They handle evertyhing somewhat undercover. They used to have a website "Empleosavianca.com" but they disabled it. Best luck is to get your license and take your CV to their offices. They haven't hired in a while. Pretty unsure in what their plans are. At one moment they say the E190s are going away, the next day they say they will keep them.

Not a good outlook for SAL nor SJO. Layoffs expected, Avianca is in a very bad financial situation.

If I understand you, Avianca (El Salvador) does not hire anyone who is not a citizen of El Salvador, correct? What if I am a Salvadorian citizen (born), but also a US citizen? Last I check El Salvador does recognize dual citizenship.

Do you now what are their minimums?

You need a commercial License from El Salvador to fly with them. Those are only given to salvadorians now.
Their process is a mistery, I have friends in the process for the last 2 yearsm they call ,they go to SAL, tests, SIM, they go back home and no one gets hired. Rumours that most of their ATR pilots quit. So they might be looking. No website to apply, just show up there I guess.

What a pain! I get the whole getting the commercial license from El Salvador, but to have to wait and wait and wait seems unnecessary. It seems working for Copa might be more attainable and straightforward.

Thanks!
