Captain salary

Hi guys,

On pilotjobsnetwork.com the reference to Captain's salary is 9000$ + 3500+something PerDiems etc (Gross).
Are these numbers realistic? And how much is tax % in Panama.

Thanks in advance

Exact pay breakout for FO per COPA. I don't have the chart for Captain pay.

Copa

All is true regarding what Pete says...
Copa is a crap operation.

There is absolutely zero leadership at the company and
Panamanians hate foreign pilots, not just gringo pilots.

Newest policy is Pilots must pay for Non Rev flights.
This company is one of the most profitable airlines in the world,
and now they require pilots to pay to go home on their time off.
Amazing Place indeed. If you get 7 hard days off per month, you will
be lucky. If you are told anything different, it is a lie.

Only desparate people in need of flight time would work at this place.
Get current and Get the hell out would be the only reason to go there.

$7500

More like $7500 when it is all said and done.
That includes per diem.

You get paid twice per month.
first of the month pay check is like, $1300
and the 13th of the month is like $5500 after tax.
(assuming you flew like 90 hours)

Hope that helps.

Housing is paid every 4 months.
800/mo less taxes..so like 600/mo

Roster is 23 ON and 7 OFF.
You get the schedule when they fell like publishing it.
Usually the schedule comes out on the 28th of the Month for
the following month.

So you if you are off on the 1st..you had 2 days notice that
you are going to be off. Very curious place, Copa.

I made it!

I'm happy to announce that I passed all the recruitment process filters. I start F/O ground school with them in October!

I don't care what anyone else might say, a job's a job. I'm gonna do this right!

Congratulations.

I'm in the beginning of the recruitment process myself. To me it doesn't look too bad in regards to pay as I have no experience yet on any jet plane, and it's more than what I'm making right now.

Does anyone know if they upgrade foreigners at all? Are all captains Panamanian, or are there some expat captains too at this point?

There's a lot of captains from everywhere not only Panama, and the requirements are the same for all, once you are inside, 4000hs TT and 1000hs on the company. For me, I started to work in COPA a few months with 1500hs TT, and my expectation to be Captain it's around 3 years more or less. No other company in the world gives you that oportunity. You'll fly modern aircraft with an excellent maintenance, a few days ago I flew the second oldest 737 of the fleet, a -700 built on year 2000, no MEL item at all and excellent engine parameters. Maybe the payment is not the best, but you wont be worried about your safety and you will have the oportunity to grow up professionaly very quickly! Then you'll have the chance to choose where you wanna fly!

Regards!

Are they recruiting at the minute?

Would they take a rated European pilot with FAA ATP.

Thanks

Yes, they're recruting

It's easier if you already know pilots or staff inside. If they don't have anyone they can ring that will vouch for you, then it takes longer for them to call you.

But either way they will email you. Just make sure you meet all the requirements posted on their webpage.

There's another FO class starting November.

Good luck Planet Eart

Good luck with your recruitment process. Make sure you prepare for the simulator assessment properly by utilizing the UNPAC simulator, anyone can use it to practice, you just have to make a reservation to practice with one of the instructors.

Info about COPA

Hi

Does anyone confirm the upper limit of 35 years for FO? Is there any 35+ FO on the latest recruitments?

Including the 7 days off, how many nights at PTY home base?

Thanks!

there is no age limit for FO. I have a friend 41 years and he is on the simulator now. Much more than 7 nights at pty.
